Terms of use
Last updated: 2026-10-06. These terms apply to Spoofwatch (monsoon116.com). They are numbered so that you can refer to a clause when you write to us.
- Acceptance. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
- Information only. Everything on Spoofwatch is published for general information. Articles describe how caller ID and call-labeling systems commonly behave, and phone menus change without notice. Nothing here is legal, financial, security or professional advice.
- The number check. The number check reports facts about an area code and the format of a number. It does not identify people, owners, carriers or line types, and you agree to use it only to learn what an area code covers.
- Acceptable use. You may not use the site, or anything you learn from it:
- to stalk, harass, threaten or locate a person;
- to impersonate someone or to commit fraud;
- to overload the site with automated tools, or to scrape it at a rate that harms other readers.
- No warranties. We work to keep pages accurate and we date every update, but we make no promise that the content is complete, current or suitable for your situation. The site and the tool are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- Limitation of liability. To the extent permitted by law, Spoofwatch and its editor are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or relying on its content, including losses from a call you answered, blocked, ignored or returned. Some places do not allow certain limitations, in which case the limits apply only as far as the law allows.
- Content and links. The text and artwork on the site belong to Spoofwatch. Quote us with a link back. We link to outside sources such as government pages and phone makers' help pages, and we do not control them or their availability. A link does not mean the organization endorses us or that we endorse it beyond the fact that it is a useful primary source.
- Messages and submissions. If you send us a message, a correction or a screenshot, you confirm that you may share it and that it does not contain other people's private details that you have no right to pass on. We may quote a correction in an update note without naming you. We will not publish your number, your name or your email address. Please do not send payment card numbers, account passwords or one-time codes by form or by email, because we will never need them.
- Your own judgment. The site discusses scams and spoofed calls, and no page can know your situation. When money or identity is involved, check with your bank, your carrier or the organization concerned through a channel you looked up yourself. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on a general article.
- Reporting problems. If you believe something on the site infringes your rights, is inaccurate or could cause harm, write to [email protected] with the page address and a short description. We will review it, respond, and correct the page when the complaint is right.
- Changes and availability. We may change the site, remove pages or suspend the tool at any time, for example to fix an error or because a source changed. We may update these terms, and the date at the top shows when. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated version. If a clause is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
- Contact. Questions about these terms go to [email protected]. Please read the privacy notice and the disclaimer too.
