Privacy notice

last updated

Last updated: 2026-10-06. This notice explains what Spoofwatch (monsoon116.com) does with information. We collect very little, and the table says exactly where some of it still ends up. You need no account to use the site.

What Why How long
Web server access log: your IP address, browser user-agent, the address you requested and the time. If you used the number check, the number you typed is part of that address Standard server operation. The lookup form sends the number in the page address, so the log line records it About a week. Logs rotate after roughly five to seven days and are then discarded
The number you type into the lookup Processed on our server to produce the answer for that one request Not written to a database and not attached to any profile
Contact form message: name, email, topic, text, time and a hashed form of your IP address To read and answer you. The hash is used only to limit repeated submissions Kept in a file on our server and deleted twelve months after we reply, or earlier on request
Email you send to [email protected] To answer you Same retention as form messages
Cookies, analytics, advertising, third-party scripts or fonts None of them are used Nothing to keep

What we do not do

The site does not set cookies. We run no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and the pages load no third-party scripts or fonts, so no outside company learns that you were here from us. We do not build profiles, and we do not match the access log against anything else.

Where information can end up

Only three places can hold something about a visit: the web server's access logs, the contact form file if you send a message, and our mailbox if you email us. Nothing else on the site stores information about you. There is no account, newsletter list or advertising profile to delete. Because the access logs are short-lived and cannot practically be searched by person, a request about log entries is usually answered by their automatic deletion within the retention window.

Your rights under CCPA and CPRA

If you live in California, you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to delete it, ask us to correct it, and ask us not to sell or share it. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but we will confirm that in writing if you ask. We will not treat you differently for making a request. Email [email protected] from the address you used and tell us what you want. If your request concerns a contact form message, give the name and email you used so we can find it. We will confirm when the information has been deleted.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass it to other companies for marketing. If the law required us to produce information, we could hand over only what this notice describes, which is very little. Our pages link to outside sites such as government agencies and phone makers. Those sites have their own policies, and once you follow a link, this notice no longer applies. See also the disclaimer for our Do Not Sell or Share statement.

Children

Spoofwatch is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us a message, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes to this notice

If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top and describe material changes on this page. Questions go to [email protected]. The terms of use and the contact page are the other places to look.
